Situated in the same city where our nation was born and the Constitution was written, the University of Pennsylvania’s Law School is among the most prestigious, selective, and oldest law schools in the world. Emphasizing a cross-disciplinary approach to education, the school fosters a diverse and collegial environment that remains at the forefront of legal education.
With a large capital campaign on the horizon, the Law School needed a website to show its donors, supporters, and alumni the impact of their support, while encouraging continued giving. The Penn Law team felt strongly about incorporating storytelling as a way to demonstrate the school’s influence in the world, so we knew we had to design a site with stunning visuals and page templates that would let visitors easily browse impact stories that tie back to the campaign priorities.
At the start of the project, we met with Penn Law’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations as well as the Office of Marketing and Communications to identify the campaign goals and messaging pillars, and to better understand the experience they wanted to create. With buy-in from stakeholders, we forged ahead with a content plan, site map, wireframes, and a design to bring it all together. We built the site on the flexible WordPress CMS to make content entry and management as easy as possible.
To facilitate such a content-focused site, the Penn Law team looked to eCity for guidance in creating a digital experience that allowed users to easily browse and discover more about these stories. By introducing dynamic content filtering and captivating visuals, the site now serves as a resource for donors, small and large — all who are invested in the future of Penn Law and want to help support the true Power of Penn.
